Auditions for Proof

The Garfield Center for the Arts is pleased to announce auditions for Proof, the Pulitzer Prize winning play by David Auburn, directed by Mark Sullivan. Four actors are sought -

- One man between 20 and 30
- One woman between 20 and 30
- One man 30 and up
- One woman 30 and up

Auditions will be held at the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre on -

Friday, February 3 at 6pm
Saturday, February 4 at 11am and
Monday, February 6 at 6pm

No need to prepare a memorized piece.   If you are unable to make these dates but would still like to audition please contact Lucia Foster at lfoster@garfieldcenter.org.

About Proof -- On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician.  Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind.  Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all:  How much of her father's madness -- or genius -- will she inherit?

Rehearsals for Proof begin the second week of February. Performances run two weekends -

Friday, March 16 at 8pm
Saturday, March 17 at 8pm
Sunday, March 18 at 3pm
Friday, March 23 at 8pm
Saturday, March 24 at 8pm
Sunday, March 25 at 3pm.

ALL ARE ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.
