2015 Tea Party Festival: Revolutionary Theatre!
Revolutionary Theatre, part of the Chestertown Tea Party Colonial Festival, is going into its 7th year. Revolutionary Theatre showcases locally written scripts that focus on the Colonial era and that are sometimes set in Chestertown. This year we will have two plays presented on May 23rd, Tea Party Saturday; at 11 AM and 3 PM.
Local playwright and director Earl Lewin says of his play “Flagged”: It’s the real “skinny” on George, Betsy, and the creation of the American flag.
“The Voyage Of The Geddes”, written by local playwright Paul Briggs and directed by Keith Thompson tells the back story behind the fateful trip leading to the Chestertown Tea Party as told both by the ship’s captain and his first mate. The two have very different stories to tell.
