Dear friend of the Chestertown HP Festival,
The Chestertown HP Festival Committee is disappointed to announce that the 2022 Chestertown HP Festival is now cancelled.
Although we had hoped to host a fun, family-friendly event for lovers of Harry Potter, Warner Brothers has demanded that we stop our event. We believed that we were operating the event in such a way that would not infringe upon their trademark and copyrights, however Warner Brothers disagrees and refuses to provide additional guidance to enable us to host the event without threat of legal action.
The committee apologizes to the vendors, visitors, business owners, and volunteers who have supported the festival over the years. We apologize to those who had planned to visit on October 14 and 15, 2022.
