GCA Director Proposals
Some Info On GCA Productions
-
- ProductIons usually run three weekends with Friday/Saturday shows at 8pm and Sunday shows at 2pm.
- Directors are generally allotted up to 6 or 7 weeks of rehearsal time for a non-musical and up to 8 to 10 weeks for a musical.
- Summers are generally taken up by youth summer camps and their productions.
For Directors:
1) Submit a list containing multiple titles (at least 3, no more than 10).
– Give title, playwright and a synopsis
– Casting requirements (gender and age breakdowns).
– How many total weeks of rehearsal would be needed prior to opening (include dress rehearsal week)
– If the royalty company that owns the play/musical is known, include that information.
– Explain why the title would make for a successful production at the Garfield.
– Explain how, if relevant, the title may engage the general Eastern Shore community.
2) Provide a bio of your past theatre experience including directing, if applicable.
3) Your calendar year availability to direct the show must be included for consideration. (TODO – List specific time slots)
