Like virtually all non-profit performing arts centers, ticket sales and donations make up only a fraction of the financial resources it takes to operate the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre. In order for GCA to continue to fulfill its public service mission we rely on volunteers. The Garfield thrives thanks to the community spirit of an army of volunteers. We invite you to be part of the effort to create a vibrant arts scene in downtown Chestertown by volunteering at the Theatre. Mostly, volunteers serve as ushers, concessionaire/ bartenders and in the box office, but if you have interests and talents in other areas to share please let us know!

What are the benefits of volunteering?

  • Contribute to the success of our downtown Arts and Entertainment district
  • Meet great people who share common interests
  • Get free entry to shows
  • Enjoy the satisfaction of doing good!

If you are interested in becoming a Garfield Volunteer, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to set up a time for a brief orientation and training.
